I can sit in the sun during cold winter and spring, but I can’t do this during summer because it would be too hot. During winter and early spring, my family would be telling me to sunbathe (with clothes on of course). The cold temperature was stronger than the weak rays of sunshine.

Terrapins like to sun bathe sometimes. They take turns to climb onto the shell of another terrapin. A terrapin likes to keep dry on higher ground when it sunbathes. That’s why they climb on top of another terrapin. They are amphibians (cold blooded) and take the temperature of their surroundings. Sunbathing is their only way of warming up. They don’t crawl much in very cold weather. They sort of freeze and keep still. I like to think that terrapins should participate in this #100HappyDays Challenge Day 19.

I have a post on terrapins, with photos and art. Just type in the word “terrapin” in the search box and hit return.
