This Monday, I’m ranting about eavesdropping. Landed property is very expensive and way beyond the reach of many ordinary folks. I have lived in stacked housing apartment blocks the whole of my adult life. I hear neighbors talking. Likewise, they can also hear voices from my unit. In the ordinary course of events, I don’t care. I couldn’t care less what my neighbors are doing, as long as they don’t interfere with me.

However, since the pandemic of Covid-19, more people are staying home, working from home. They have more time to eavesdrop on conversations, and plot their interference for their own advantage.

What have people become?

Gossip: TMP The Monday Peeve

Gossip can be used as a psychological weapon to demoralize the intended target. The motive for targeting a person/ organization can be revenge for selfish reasons. Unsuspecting followers of gossip believe it as truth set in stone. Gossipers have double standards. They think they have a free license to gossip, but cry foul when the table is turned around.

Digital pics too large to upload

This Monday, March 8 2021, I’m bogging about my latest pet peeve – any digital photo that can’t be uploaded into my blog platform, because their memory size is too large. As we all know, iphone pics can be heavily overweight in memory size. I’ve gone to two websites which claimed they would compress such pics but reality showed otherwise.

I don’t need good quality memory sized photos. I only want to show what my art pics look like.

Now, I’m searching for a digital cam that can take pics and present them in small memory mB sizes that can be uploaded into my blog media library. Please recommend, or share your method for uploading pics. Thank you.

Fasting: TMP

I hate to fast overnight from 12 midnight to the following morning. This has to be done once in three months, or once in four months. I have to do this to prepare for my blood test. Waiting outside the clinic for it to open, is one of the toughest waiting periods. I usually arrive outside the clinic way before 9 am. Maybe at 8:30 am. I want to be the first patient in the queue. This would reduce my waiting time inside the clinic. Sometimes, a long line of queue forms when patients decide to see the doctor in the morning. Once, I was way behind in the queue system and had to wait very long for my turn to see the doctor. I felt unwell. So I decided to change the time I arrived at the clinic. Being the first in line meant I didn’t have to wait inside the clinic too. Hurray!

Insects: TMP

My post for The Monday Peeve (TMP) Feb 22 2021 is on insects. I hate mosquitoes, bed bugs, cockroaches, big spiders, house flies and etc. These are pests which may spread diseases and illnesses. I spent money on insect sprays, sticky bait, and extermination to reduce these household pests. Someone in my family had dengue fever because of a mosquito bite and spent a few weeks recuperating at home. The diet had to be rich in fluids because dengue caused fluid loss, poor appetite, fever and other symptoms. I asked myself, what if I had been the one who got sick? Who would be there to be my care giver? When I had flu, I spent three weeks trying to recover from it. I decided to reduce the risks that cause diseases, rather than to fall prey to them. This is why I am vigilant against insect pests that carry potential risks of harm.

Cheating dreams: TMP #74

Cheating dreams is my topic for The Monday Peeve. I woke up on Monday after a dream about a man who has been plotting of cheating, for the past several months. Everyone in the local area knows he plans of cheating anybody he can get a grip on. Cheating is a bad vice. I name cheating as The Monday Peeve to grumble about. My encounters during my daytime have triggered dreams of cheating and related dream imagery of swindling, blackmailing and evil.
