Dreaming of paddling

The meaning of this dream depends on the context of the situation. Were you paddling for leisure or to get away from danger? Sewing dream

Sewing does not pertain only to clothes. Sewing shut a garment is also a metaphor to tell you to “sew your lips shut”. Sometimes your brain knows you have a secret you should keep. You were at the verge of talking about it because it is an interesting piece of gossip to share. Then at night, you have this dream about sewing shut a slit or mouth or something. You wake up puzzled, until you reflect on this dream imagery and metaphor. You would feel horrified when you realize your dream was telling you to sew your lips shut. So are you going to defy dream prophecy and talk about that secret? No. Its better to be safe than sorry. Divergence of a secret may lead to disastrous consequences.

Sewing as a metaphor can also mean patching up torn relationships, and sewing to mend before farther damage wrecks the thing in question.

Dreaming to sew

Some years ago, I had this dream about sewing garments. After I woke up, I was perplexed. In real life, I didn’t own a sewing machine. I didn’t know how to operate a sewing machine. I sewed some minor alterations by hand. I didn’t know how to sew entire pieces of clothing from scratch. What was the meaning of my dream? I thought about my wardrobe. I had clothes to cover my bare essential needs but lacked variety to alternate my dressing. The truth for my dream interpretation hit me squarely on my shoulders. My dream of sewing was to tell me to sew clothes for myself. I would have to learn to sew by machine, or hand sew entire garments. My dream told me I needed to vamp up my wardrobe.

PS. I had tried to draw for this #SBSadrawingaday challenge before but I couldn’t draw all of the items in the list so I gave up. Hopefully, I can interpret the prompts better now and get ideas to draw them.

I’m disappointed with #SBSadrawingaday challenge because none from the participants, and none from #SketchbookSkool, and @SketchbookSkool have visited. I have enrolled in many, many courses. Just one art student in the sea of thousands of others.

Raincoat dream
The meaning of a dream seeing a raincoat is to prepare for rain (bad weather). This is the obvious (manifest) meaning of this dream symbol. You know a parent is being over-protective when she prescribes a raincoat even when it isn’t raining. A mother instructed her child to wear his raincoat when she spotted a cleaner in the distance. Said cleaner was spraying water on the road, to wash away some mud. The mother didn’t want her child to be wet from the water spray. So raincoat it is.

Dreaming of elongating
This is a very strange dream. This dream could have been triggered by an incident where you needed to elongate/ expand an item of clothing which did not fit you.

In one incident, I had to pump air into party balloons for a social function. I had to stretch new balloons to expand and elongate them, before fitting the mouth of the balloon over the hand pump. After one dozen balloons, I was tired. I wanted to hand over this chore to another person, but no one in the room was willing to take over. In fact, a few people were gossiping and laughing at me because this chore was unenviable and provoking for the wrong reasons. I overheard the jokes and my ears burned. The event organizers were busy with other duties and I saw my chance to leave the room. I tried to forget about this incident. But that night, I dreamed about it. My dream imagery was different but the theme was the same. My dream was about balloons that didn’t inflate. I stretched the rubbers before pumping them but they didn’t inflate. Either the balloons were faulty or the pump wasn’t working. I woke up from my dream feeling puzzled.

Elongating as erotic dream
Regarding the dream imagery as an erotic symbol is common. There is no need to elaborate on the possibilities of imagery that have connections to eroticism.
