In some cultures, moths and butterflies are symbols of reincarnated souls. Dead people’s souls may be reborn into lowly creatures like moths and butterflies because they need to cleanse themselves, before they can be reborn into a higher life form. Their rebirths continue, until they have repaid for their sins from their past lives. Then the soul is reborn into a human form.
