Do you need to stand in the queue to order and make payment for your food/ drink/ snacks? Can you afford to throw money at a total stranger? Do you want to do a small bit of philanthropy to reel in good karma? Pay for the person behind you. This is totally strange and might freak them out. Run away if you feel too uncomfortable to explain.
I bought the book because I wanted to do this challenge.

]]>I have a relative who is a social butterfly. She flirts from one flower to another. Then she decided she was too stressed living in a rat race because there are so many flowers and so little time to visit them. She decided to fly far away, to a land where there were few flowers. She would not be distracted to visit many flowers then.
Don’t be like this butterfly. You don’t have to migrate far away to obtain space for yourself. You can create personal space by saying no to many commitments.
Haiku
The butterfly flew
to a land where she could rest,
her tired wings still.

]]>I like to read. I seldom have dedicated time to read any book, save for newspapers. I try to squeeze in some time to read a few pages of a book.

]]>I went for my first blood test as an older adult in late 2018. This event changed my life dramatically. It saved me from suffering sudden unknown heart problems.
I fasted overnight and to save myself from discomfort, I traveled to the clinic at 8:30 am, to be first in the queue. The clinic opened at 9 am but the queue started forming at 8:35 am. My GP took my blood pressure reading early in the morning at 9 am. It was high. I couldn’t believe this. I told my GP I would buy a sphygmomanometer, to read and record my BP. I did that every morning and bedtime and recorded in a small notebook. At the end of one month, the findings were clear – I had high BP.
My blood test results showed reasonably good readings except for cholesterol. My GP said it was probably due to genetically inherited medical condition. High cholesterol and BP went together like a pair of rogues. I was prescribed medication to help handle these problems. I’m sharing my story to persuade others on the importance of blood pressure readings and blood tests.
Please get your blood test done.

]]>Briefly, metta meditation prepares us to love ourselves. When we love ourselves, then only we can offer kindness and love to others.
Before you start with a metta meditation, you should be comfortably seated. Breathe deeply. Try to remember memories where you experienced kindness and love. Recite the metta prayer.
Metta prayer:
May I be happy,
may I be well.
May I be free from suffering,
may I be peaceful and at ease.
Buddha metta via Golubnichy, 2017.
Practice saying this metta several time and believe in it. You will have a positive attitude and approach your day with enough personal conviction to tackle your responsibilities.

]]>Instead of a photo album, I chose to gather a few of my favorite water color drawings. I have happy memories of drawing and painting them in.

]]>I like oldies because they have been played so many times almost every day, that those songs have become familiar. I seldom tune in to the radio stations playing contemporary music. My music playlist would comprise of many old songs.
