Delirium is NOT a dream

Delirium is not dreaming.

Is the state of delirium a dream? Delirium is NOT a dream. After a patient recovers from delirium, it seems that episode was unreal.

In the first place, delirium (temporary and sudden delirium) is commonly caused by infection. A change in the composition of blood, and presence of virus, produces the symptom of delirium. This condition needs to be examined by a doctor in a hospital, where there are medical facilities for laboratory tests to be done on the patient’s fluids.

Delirium is like a state of confusion, which can be considered as an alternate state of consciousness. Delirium is so drastic that it seems unreal to the patient after he has recovered. It has been recorded that some patients said their bouts of delirium seemed like dreams.
